My Girlfriend and I stayed here in February this year. We decided to choose it due to the photos on here and we were not disappointed one bit. It is a very clean, friendly, easy to find and a secure hostel. When we arrived we were treated by a very polite lady who I can't remember her name. (Sorry) This particular young lady made our stay and recommended some very cool places but the best one was the jazz club, IT WAS BRILLIANT!
The only thing I/ we could LC Hotel down for is the cooking area/ kitchen is in the communal area.
I have to say though, the decor is amazing and we Loved it.
Great hostel- great price- lovely staff - very cute (Alice in wonderland-esque). Close to some awesome restaurants, walking distance from all tourist attractions. All rooms are slightly different - ours was really spacious. Some fully equipped apartments. Main issue: HEAPS of stairs to get up there, especially awful with suitcases. Definitely more suited to backpacks!!!
Also, wifi didn't reach our room but I think it reaches all others & is very fast when it does reach.
Overall- would recommend! Thanks Lavender :)
Having seen great reviews about this hostel I was really excited to stay here, and I wasn't disappointed. It was easy to find and in a great location, close to the great market hall; Vaci utca; and the Jewish district; and also really easy to get to the Buda side, having a bridge at the end of the road. All staff were lovely and very helpful, we were welcomed in, offered a drink, shown on a map the best places to go and things to see and then shown to our room. We had booked a private double room with shared bathroom but were upgraded to a room with a private bathroom for the same price, which was a lovely surprise. The room itself was the best hostel room I've stayed in. Cool, quirky and comfortable, lots of room and a proper electric cold air fan!! The hostel was clean and had a good kitchen and common area. We felt very safe staying there as there were three points at which you needed a key from the street to our room and there was CCTV as well. We also were able to buy tickets to the Gellert Baths for the same price, which allowed us to avoid the ques to buy a ticket at the baths.
Overall we had a brilliant stay and I would choose to stay here again, even if I was coming for a holiday with a higher budget!!
(the stairs didn't bother us at all, don't let them put you off staying here!)
So cool! Loved this apartment! Unique space which made it really fun, we loved it! The only concern was that it wasn't in the same building as the hostel part, but it really wasn't a big deal, it was super safe and the girl who welcomed us was so friendly and helpful. The directions and communication via email was great as well. Highly recommend staying here!
We absolutely loved our stay here!! It was a welcome break after 2 weeks of large, bare hostel rooms. The staff are really friendly and helpful, we were offered tea/coffee when we arrived and they sat down with us to chat about Budapest and mark out on a map things to do, places to eat, drink etc. The decor in this place alone is like an attraction, it's incredible! Also we were left some bath towels for free which was great after 2 weeks of using horrible travel towels!
Great hostel with friendly staff, amazing location & decent facilities. Had a fantastic view from my room looking over the mueum across the road, plenty of great places to eat + the famous ruin bar within a 1km radius. Would rexommend/stay again :)
Lavender Circus was, hands down, my favorite hostel in all of Europe for the 6+ weeks that I traveled. Although climbing the stairs to the hostel was a bit of a workout every time, it could not have been more worth it. Lavender was the cleanest hostel I stayed at with friendly staff, beautiful rooms and nice facilities. Location was perfect and walking distance to most things. So cozy and comfortable, I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone staying in Budapest!
Spent a fab 4 nights in this place, arrived late on a Friday night which was worrying as we didn't know what to expect but the airport shuttle took us straight to the door. We were very welcomed on our arrival which was a big bonus as we were unsure of everything at the time. The lady was very helpful and took the time to show us a map of Budapest and recommend us places to go. The whole place is quirky and well decorated. The downside was that the room was so hot but that couldn't be helped.
Liked: Everything was amazing! The lobby, the rooms, the decoration, the atmosphere the stuff was super helpful.. We had shared bathroom but it was very clean, and was not used by many people! The stuff also invided us to a dinner party they were having with typical hungarian food and drinks..we couldn't attend because we only had a few hours to see Budapest, but still it was lovely that they invited us!It's too bad that we only stayed there for 1 night, we definitely wanted to stay more,, it wasn't enough.. Totally recommend it!
Disliked: I guess that there was no elevator, and if you're having big luggage it's not that pleasant..
Liked: It's lovely, nice drawings everywhere. We got a couple ensuite at a great price in January. The girl who checked us in (Flower?) gave us great advice about where to go and what to see in Budapest. The places she recommended were really nice and cheaper than average.
Disliked: Breakfast would've been nice, even paid separately.Little bit noisy from the main street but I used earplugs and that was fine.
